Fake sandisk CF card from ebay seller

A few days ago, I bought a Compact Flash Card described as “GENUINE Compact Flash CF Memory Card 4 gb Extreme IV uk” from this ebay seller: miss-memorycard@hotmail.co.uk. It turned out to be fake!
Seller’s store: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/miss-memorycard

I thought she/he was trustworthy because there were more than one thousand transactions made by this seller, and 99.4% left positive feedback. But it seemed I was wrong. The delivery was quick, but after I recived the card box, I noticed that this card looks quite fake, and I tested the card speed, this card performed much slower than it is supposed to be. So I took some photos of this card, and sent an email to Sandisk Support: Asia_support@SanDisk.com

The card photos are here( click to see the details ):

0712 fake CF or not?

A Sandisk Technical supporter called David replied me quickly. He concluded that this card was fake, and asked me to request ebay UK a refund. Now I am asking for it!

Just let you know in case you also bought something from this seller!

Ji

Hello Mr. Ji Ruan,

Thank you for contacting SanDisk Technical support. It is our goal to make sure that you have all the resources that you need to make the most out of your SanDisk product. We are here to assist you.

Thank you for taking these photos. After I have carefully inspected the photos, I don’t think this is an original SanDisk card. Please ask for a refund from eBay UK.

Thank you for your continuing support in genuine SanDisk brand.

Best Regards,

Re: -!!BEWARE!!- of fake memory cards on ebay

Before reading this thread I managed to buy what was called a “GENUINE SanDisk Extreme IV 8GB compact flash card”. Having asked SanDisk they confirmed it is a fake. So beware of the eBay seller I bought it from:

    Hi,

I also bought this exact same product and the read/write speed of the card is much less than it should be and the product itself even looks fake the box it came in is similar but not the same as a genuine box if u place a genuine and a fake next to each other the differences are very clear to see

Thank you Ji for bringing this to my atention

Hi just came across your website having seen that you are selling Sony A100 batteries. I had a look at ebay for this miss-memorycard and they are still trading and making some good money out of it as well. No doubt you got your refund from ebay, but bet that it dragged on and on. These type of ebayers should be closed down or given strikes against them. I have always heard that memory cards off email can be dodgy.
