| From Africa Oye Mu… |
We had a nice weekend for Africa Music in the Sefton Park. It is the Africa Oyé, the biggest live Free African Music Festival in the UK. Music is a core elements in the culture of Liverpool. Africa is where our ancestors walked out from. So it is a great opportunity to experience African music in a capital of music. I did not attend the whole weekend, but just the last bit. I enjoyed it very much, especially the last band: Macka B & The Royale Roots Band. Macka B is a brilliant musician, originally from Jamaica. His lyrics are all in English so that I can understand most of them. He was singing about no guns, women and children, love, vegetarianism, etc. And he was even trying to explain something new to the audience. I definitely did not regret to go.
Here are two youtube examples of Macka B’s music: THE GANJA LADIES(Live) and Children Children(Studio).
