I start to feel the urgency of digging out some really old photos and put them on my flickr before they get lost in my increasingly crowded hard drive.

This album is one of the first albums I took after I arrived Holland. I went to this trip with two friends on September 27, 2003. And we certainly enjoyed it.

I saw a very old version of the Albert Heijn Supermarket (founded in 1887):

Overall, it is an interesting place to visit if you have a half day in Amsterdam (cost around 20 minutes by train to get there from Central Station Amsterdam):

英国皇家植物园

What nice about Flickr is that your photos will be exposed to a large photo-loving community hosted in Flickr. And people give feedbacks to your photos.

For example, this is a snapshot that I took in London last year’s April, and it has been sitting in my hard-drive for more than 1 year now. Yesterday I put it on my flickr and today someone marked it as a favorite. Isn’t it nice to know that some particular people like a particular photo of you and you never meet each other?

This is not the whole story. I was curious about who this person was, and then I followed a link to his or her photo page on flickr. It turned out that there were quite a few photos on buses & coaches there. And I also found that there is a even larger community called “Scania Bus & Coach in the UK ” which collects all sorts of photos related to buses and coaches in UK.

BTW, the double-decked red bus appeared as a symbol of London in the closing ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games. I think it is indeed a good choice as it represents the people, the efficient way of transportation, and a typical scene in a London Street.

那天我们并没有看到圆圆的太阳，因为等它从云层里面出来的时候，已经是万丈光芒，看不清轮廓了。不过几天后我就抓住了一次机会：

下面两张则是摄于法国第五大城市尼斯的日落：

I was on a trip in Switzerland last mid December. In Interlaken, I stayed in the Balmer’s Herberge Hostel. But in second day morning, because I was in a hurry to go to the Jungfraubahn, the top of Europe, I fogot my a sweater in the Balmer’s. And I did not realize this after left Interlaken. There was not enough time to go back to Interlaken for the sweater, although it is one of my favouriate.

After comming back to Liverpool, I sent an email to Balmer’s. They did not reply promptly. I guess that might because of Xmas holiday. But after the new year, they sent me an email and asked my mailing address. After several days, the sweater was back to Liverpool. I was really delighted.

Therefore, I want to thank the Balmer’s and will send them some nice photos that I took in Swiss.

If you visit Switzerland in the future, do not miss the Balmers if passing Interlaken. It is a reasonable priced Hostel, with quite a few interesting things. I even played table-tennis with my friend. The receiption is open for 24 hours, and staff is very friendly. It is easily accessible from both Train stations.
